Medicare questions, answered for Oklahoma

Who can help me understand Medicare in Tulsa or elsewhere in Oklahoma?
Landon Buckmaster at Buckmaster Insurance is based in Tulsa and helps clients throughout Oklahoma understand Medicare options. You can ask questions by phone, text, or email, including before you are ready to enroll.
When should I start preparing for Medicare if I am turning 65?
Start reviewing your situation before your 65th birthday. For most people, the first enrollment window spans seven months: the three months before their birthday month, that month, and the next three months. Your circumstances can change the rules; check Medicare.gov before delaying enrollment.
What should I bring to a Medicare coverage review?
Prepare your ZIP code, doctors and hospitals, medication names and doses, preferred pharmacy, current coverage information, and a comfortable budget. Do not send your Medicare number or sensitive medical records through the website form.
Can I keep working after 65 and delay Medicare?
Some people qualify to delay certain coverage because of current employment coverage. Others can face gaps or penalties. Employer coverage, COBRA, and retiree coverage do not all work the same way. Confirm how your coverage coordinates with Medicare before deciding.
What is the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement?
Medicare Advantage is a private-plan way to receive Medicare benefits, often with provider networks. Medicare Supplement works with Original Medicare to help with certain cost sharing. These are different arrangements; compare doctors, expenses, and enrollment rights rather than assuming one suits everyone.
Will my doctors and prescriptions be covered?
Coverage depends on the particular plan. Before enrollment, check each doctor against the plan network and each medication against its covered-drug list. Review pharmacy options and confirm details with both the plan and provider.
Does Medicare cover routine dental care?
Original Medicare generally does not cover routine cleanings or most routine dental services. Some Medicare Advantage plans include dental benefits, and separate dental policies are available. Limits, networks, exclusions, and waiting periods vary.
Can Buckmaster Insurance help after I enroll?
Yes. Landon remains available for coverage questions and reviews. Changing coverage requires an applicable enrollment period, and Medicare Supplement applications can have separate eligibility or underwriting requirements.
